  3. Relevant: Ensure your goal aligns with your personal values and long-term vision. For me, riding 1,000 miles wasn’t just about the distance. It was about embracing a healthier lifestyle and finding joy in the journey.
  4. Time-bound: Establish a deadline to maintain focus. My goal was to complete the 1,000 miles within one year, from July 8, 2023, to July 7, 2024. This timeframe kept me motivated and accountable.

My Indoor Skydiving Adventure

One day, a friend casually suggested we try indoor skydiving. My initial reaction was, “Why would I want to do that?” But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that this was exactly the kind of experience that could push me out of my comfort zone and spur personal growth.

So, we booked a session at I-FLY near Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. As the day approached, I felt a mix of excitement and nerves. I wondered if you’ve ever felt that way before trying something new—knowing it would challenge you but not quite sure if you’re ready for it. That’s the exact moment when personal growth is about to happen.

Stepping Into the Unknown

When I arrived at I-FLY, the sound of rushing air and the sight of people floating in a vertical wind tunnel instantly set my heart racing. The instructors were encouraging, but I couldn’t shake the anxiety in my stomach. Have you ever had a moment where you were about to do something outside of your comfort zone, and the fear almost made you back out?

After the safety briefing, where we learned how to position our bodies and how to communicate using hand signals, it was finally my turn. Standing at the edge of the wind tunnel, I could feel my heart pounding. But I knew I had to take that leap of faith—not just into the wind tunnel, but into a new experience that would help me grow.

Taking the Leap

As I leaned forward into the wind tunnel with the help of my instructor, the force of the air lifted me off my feet. The initial sensation was overwhelming, and I could feel a surge of panic. I’m sure you’ve had moments where you took the plunge into something new and felt a similar rush of uncertainty. But then, as I started to relax and trust the process, something incredible happened: I let go of my fear.

I began to enjoy the sensation of floating, of moving up and down in the air column. With the instructor’s guidance, I found my balance, and suddenly, I was flying. It was exhilarating, and in that moment, I realized just how powerful it is to step beyond your fears.
